Play pétanque
Play pétanque
We have a large pétanque court where many a family battle has been fought with these heavy silver balls. A great social sport to enjoy with family and friends, especially with a glass of wine or two!

Go for a swing
Younger children will love the swings at the bottom of the garden. These are clearly visible from the kitchen and terrace, making it is easy for parents to keep an eye on their kids while also kicking back.

Stroll through our gardens and vineyards
The woods and vineyards that surround the Château are yours to explore. Louis Cavignac planted a variety of interesting trees over the past 40 years, many of which have matured beautifully, and which now host various birds, the occasional deer, and even the odd wild boar! Take a stroll along the lovely nature trail, which leads down to the small lake. Keep your eyes peeled for beavers!

Château Belvédère is a short walk from the sleepy village of Périssac, home of a beautiful church where the current custodians of the Château were married. To explore the interior of the church, ask for the key from the town hall opposite.

Home to approximately 25,000 people, Libourne sits at the confluence of the Gironde and Isle rivers and boasts a beautiful promenade and town square. Surrounded by countless vineyards, Libourne is home to the famous Pomerol wine appellation. Fun fact: historically, wine was shipped downriver from Libourne to Bordeaux on barges.
Interestingly, the town takes its name from a British Lord called Roger de Leybourne. This dates back to 1270 when the British had control of the Gironde region – a situation that lasted until the end of the 14th century, when the French rightly took it back!
Libourne has many shops, restaurants and activities, including:

Libourne Cinema
Libourne Skatepark
