The famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saint-Émilion can be reached by car in just 25 minutes.. If you fancy a day at the beach then the coastal resort of Lacanau Océan is 1h15 mins away.

Listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, this spectacular medieval city is just 25 minutes’ drive from Château Belvédère. With its terracotta rooftops visible from the perimeter walk, as well as an abundance of restaurants, shops and local crafts, Saint-Émilion has a unique charm. Famed for its exquisite wines, there are many wine caves for you to visit as you search for the perfect bottle. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not scare the kids with a visit to the catacombs beneath the monolithic church! And don’t forget to sample one of the famous Saint-Émilion macaroons, which have been delighting gourmets for centuries.

Périssac

Château Belvédère is located in the quiet, sleepy village of Périssac. Table D’oc, a wonderful little farmers’ restaurant open for delightful village lunches, is just a short walk away. The local church is very pretty – to explore it, simply ask for the key from the town hall across the street.

Located just five minutes’ drive from the Château, the small village of Galgon has a post office, pharmacy, kids’ playground, and a large Super U supermarket, as well as several petrol stations.

This historic city, with its grand promenade, ornate architecture, superb restaurants and extensive shopping – as well as numerous galleries, parks and other attractions – is a real treat to explore.
